Miriam Whiteley, CFP®, CeFT®, RLP®, is the founder of LifeCraft Financial Planning, a holistic, fee-only practice that specializes in preparing for and managing age-related financial transitions. Miriam earned a B.S. in Business/Finance from California State University, Long Beach, and thought she would be a financial planner. Instead, she became a teacher. She loved teaching but yearned to give people financial knowledge, and in particular empower them on their financial journey to have the life they really want and reduce their financial worry and stress.
In 2016 she made a career change and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and also earned her RLP (Registered Life Planner) with the Kinder Institute. By this time, she’d been her parents’ daily money manager and health care advocate for many years, and knew she wanted to specialize in eldercare planning. She earned an End of Life Care and Support certificate to enhance her understanding of the aging process, and to be of assistance to clients at the intersection of money, health, and end-of-life issues.
Miriam enjoys helping clients prepare rather than repair when dealing with the stream of transitions that aging brings. Helping her clients prepare for change led her to realize that we all need to increase our transition skills to make the most of longevity and she became a CeFT®, Certified Financial Transitionist.
The expression of Miriam’s passion for the power of education, art, and music to bring us to states of awe and connection has moved from the classroom to her volunteer work. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Oregon Bach Festival and is a hospice volunteer and sings at the bedside with the Eugene Threshold Singers.
