An experienced teacher, Barbara has written, developed and taught courses on financial planning and investments.  She has lectured to professional groups throughout the country on divorce financial analysis, investing, long-term care insurance and divorce planning.  As a financial expert, Barbara has been a guest on New England Cable News’ “Business Day” program, and Fox TV news, serving as an authority on women and finance.  A well-known, highly respected professional in the field, Barbara has been interviewed by USA Today, the Boston Herald, the Boston Globe, the Boston Business Journal, Worth, Pittsburgh’s Post Gazette, the New York Times, Kiplinger’s Retirement, “That Money Show,” Information Week, Investment News, “The Law Show,” “CNN Lookout,” “,” NPR’s “The Connection” and WBZ News Radio, as well as many others.  Lending her talents to the internet, Barbara has been interviewed and quoted on websites such as and  She also served as a columnist for Physician’s Money Digest, submitting editorials on different aspects of finance and planning and has co-authored an article on divorce which appeared in the July 2007 issue of “Advisor Today.”  Ms. Shapiro spoke at the 2012 ABA conference in Philadelphia on “Financial and Other Hot Tips from the Experts”.  Ms. Shapiro has been selected as one of “the most dependable financial planners in Boston” by Boston Magazine, a Top Ten Financial Advisor in 2009 by Women’s Business Boston and was selected as a Top Wealth Advisor by Boston Magazine in 2010, 2011 and 2012. She has recently co-authored her first book, He Said, She Said: A Practical Guide to Finance and Money During Divorce.
